Videx Tanks was appointed by Fireco Pty Ltd to supply, deliver and install a dedicated fire water storage solution for a fire protection project in Turffontein, Johannesburg. The installation needed to maximise available space while providing reliable storage capacity and maintaining ease of maintenance and access. - Dedicated fire water storage for an existing industrial site - Maximise capacity within a constrained footprint - Reliable water supply for fire protection infrastructure - Long service life with low maintenance - Easy access for inspections and maintenance ### Videx Solution Videx supplied and installed three cylindrical Aluzinc steel tanks configured specifically for fire protection service, complete with roof structures, access ladders, level indication systems and all required fire protection connections: - Two 392.28 kL gross / 371.65 kL effective tanks (Ø 7.640 m × 8.557 m) - One 189.12 kL gross / 180.10 kL effective tank (Ø 5.730 m × 7.334 m) - Aluzinc steel construction for corrosion resistance - Spider roof structures and access ladders with safety cages - Water level indicators and vortex inhibitors - Ø300 sprinkler outlets and Ø150 hydrant outlet - Test return, overflow, cooling and drain connections The modular bolted construction enabled rapid assembly with minimal site disruption, while the Aluzinc steel construction provides exceptional corrosion resistance for decades of dependable service. ![Completed Turffontein fire water tanks alongside existing industrial building](/__l5e/assets-v1/fd05553e-3af6-4a73-ab30-57211580928c/turffontein-fire-3.jpg) ### Outcome The completed Turffontein installation now benefits from more than 923,000 litres of dedicated fire water storage capacity, delivering reliable fire protection support, improved site resilience and long-term corrosion resistance.
