Two cylindrical Aluzinc bladder tanks supplied, delivered and installed for Specifire, providing dedicated fire water storage for the Leroy Merlin Cornubia development in Blackburn.
As large-format retail developments continue to expand across South Africa, dependable fire water infrastructure is essential to protecting people, tenants and trading operations from day one.
Videx Storage Tanks partnered with Specifire Pty Ltd to supply, deliver and install two cylindrical steel fire water storage tanks for the Leroy Merlin Cornubia development in Blackburn, KwaZulu-Natal. The completed installation provides more than 631 kL of effective fire water storage capacity for the site's fire protection system.

The project required reliable, long-life fire water storage that could integrate with sprinkler and hydrant infrastructure while fitting into an active commercial construction programme running to a tight retail delivery timeline.
Videx supplied two ASIB cylindrical bladder tanks manufactured from Aluzinc steel. Each tank incorporates an internal food-grade PVC bladder, butt-jointed panel construction, external stiffeners, corrugated roof, mechanical level indicator, external ladder and vortex inhibitor. The bladder isolates the stored water from the steel shell, reducing corrosion and extending service life.

The tanks were installed on reinforced concrete foundations alongside construction of the dedicated fire pump room. The modular Aluzinc design enabled efficient on-site assembly and close coordination with Specifire and the principal contractor throughout the build programme.
The completed installation delivers over 630 kL of effective dedicated fire water storage, supporting the site's fire protection infrastructure with a durable, low-maintenance solution engineered for long-term performance.
